About IET India
We are the Indian arm of the IET, a global organisation inspiring, informing and influencing the engineering community to engineer a better world.
As a diverse home across engineering and technology, we share knowledge that helps make better sense of the world to solve the challenges that matter. It’s why we are uniquely placed to champion engineering.

Our focus
What we do across India and globally
Professional Development
We offer professional accreditations of TMIET, MIET and FIET, and deliver tailored membership packages, relevant to your career stage.
We also award internationally recognised professional registrations, under licence from the Engineering Council UK.
Academic Development
We work with academic institutions to help grow interest in engineering and how it will help drive change across India.
Providing platforms for academia and professionals to meet, we award £500,000 annually in prizes, scholarships and medals.
The most prestigious prize is the Faraday Medal, inspiring young scholars and funding 700 mentors to challenge and motivate the next generation.
Knowledge and networking
Essential Engineering Intelligence is at the heart of what we do.
We publish over 100 new titles every year. These include books, journals, magazines and the IET Wiring Regulations. Our bibliographic information service, Inspec, holds over 12 million records of scientific and technical literature.
We help industry leaders collaborate with engineers and technicians at every level, and hold events on India-specific topics with globally recognised speakers.
We also set up local networks for our members, and with 21 Technical Networks, there is a wealth of reliable information and expertise to hand.
We’re upgrading our systems, and this includes changes to our customer and member account log in, MyIET. It’s part of our big picture plan to deliver a great experience for you and our wider engineering community.
Whilst most of our websites remain available for browsing, it will not be possible to log in to purchase products or access services from Thursday, 17 April to Wednesday, 30 April 2025. Our Member Relations team is here to help and for many of our services, including processing payments or orders, we’ll be able to support you over the phone on +44 (0)1438 765678 or email via membership@theiet.org.
