There are three types of annual membership, depending on your career progression. Membership runs for 12 consecutive months from the date of payment.
Student
For those working towards a career in engineering and technology and you are at university.
Associate
For those who are working in a related field or have a passion for engineering and technology.
Member (MIET/TMIET)
For those working in the industry and actively developing their knowledge and understanding of engineering best practice.
For final year students, our Advantage programme supports your studies and transition into full-time employment.
We also offer other types of membership for those people who have demonstrated exceptional commitment to the industry and the IET.
Fellow (FIET)
For individuals who have been recognised time and again for their commitment to the industry and professional achievements.
