Bengaluru, Nov 24, 2018: PES University, Banashankari campus has become the first university in Karnataka and the fifth in India to secure the IET’s international Accreditation for 8 of its engineering programmes. IET accreditation is an internationally recognised benchmark, awarded to high quality programmes that provide an ideal preparation for aspiring professional engineers.
The accreditation will be announced at the PES University Foundation Day function on the 24th of November where Mr. G. T. Devegowda, Hon’ble Minister, Higher Education, Government of Karnataka will be the Chief Guest. Mr. M. K. Shankarlinge Gowda, Chairman, Karnataka Electricity Regulatory Commission will be the Guest of Felicitation, while Prof. D. Jawahar, Pro-Chancellor, PES University & Chief Executive Officer, PES Institutions and Mr. Mustafa Wajid, Chair - The IET India Development Panel will be the guests of honour. Dr. M. R. Doreswamy, EX-MLC, Chancellor, PES University & Founder, PES Institutions are slated to preside over the function.
PES University applied for IET Accreditation in 2014 and 8 of their BTech and MTech programmes including CSE, ECE, EEE & Mechanical streams are now IET accredited. The accreditation will have a positive impact spreading over 9 graduating batches from 2018 to 2025. At the end of the term, a review will be held, clearing which, the accreditation can be extended to another 2 years. In addition to validating the quality of the institution’s programmes, IET Accreditation also provides direct benefits to students graduating from PES University. It allows better International mobility, job prospects and acceptance for graduate students in foreign universities, opportunities for interdisciplinary research as well as exchanges.
With the successful completion of the Accreditation Process, PES University is now the IET’s Academic Partner which gives them access to over 80 international academic partners, opening avenues for international collaboration.

IET accreditation, licensed by the Engineering Council, covers a broad spectrum of engineering and technology subjects. It is recognised around the world as an indicator of quality through the Washington and Sydney Accords, governed by the International Engineering Alliance (IEA). Institutions with IET Accredited programmes are eligible to apply for the EUR-ACE label, awarded by European Network for Accreditation of Engineering Education (ENAEE).
